Documents required for US Visa application

  • Original passport and old passports, if any
  • Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of submission of the visa, with a minimum of three blank pages
  • Two copies of the first and last page of your passport
  • The visa application form duly filled (online) by the applicant, under the guidance of our travel experts
  • 2 recent passport-size colour photographs taken against a white background with matte-finish (2x2 and 80% face close-up)
    Note: Photograph should not be more than 3 months old, scanned/stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas.
  • Covering letter mentioning details of travel, details of the traveller, purpose of visit and duration of stay. The letter should be duly signed by authorized signatory with company stamp and addressed to the Consulate General of the United States of America, Mumbai

Proof of retirement like pension book, statement etc.

4. If Student

School / College / Institute ID Card;

Bonafide certificate.

5. If Minor

Birth Certificate;

No Objection Certificate from the parents / non-accompanying parent on Rs 100/- stamp paper;

ID proof of parents like passport or PAN card.

6. If Visiting friend or relative:

Invitation letter;

Inviter’s ID proof like Passport or Resident Permit;

Addresses proof like any Electricity bill, any Utility bill etc.

7. The applicant's sponsor needs to furnish the following documents:

    • Invitation letter 
    • Sponsorship letter stating the declaration of support 
    • Financial documents of the sponsor
    • Proof of residency - Green card or a valid visa of the inviter from USA
    •   Income tax returns for the last 3 years.

8. For Business Visa

Invitation letter from host Company stating the purpose of the trip, business details etc;

  • 1) what is a b2/b1 visa to us?

    The B2/B1 US visa is a non-immigrant visa which allows foreign nationals to enter into the U.S. temporarily for activities like tourism, visiting friends and relatives, medical care, participation in conventions, conferences, or convocations of fraternal or social organizations, participation by amateurs in musical, sports and similar events.

  • 2) how do i qualify for a us visa?

    Even though most US Visa applications are processed in 2-3 business days, in case additional processing is required, it may take up to 12 weeks. Moreover it is difficult to get appointments as well. Therefore, you should plan to apply for your US Visa as soon as possible or around 3 months in advance.

  • 4) is it possible to get a multiple-entry usa visa to the united states?

    Yes! As per the recent amendments to U.S. Immigration Laws, it is possible to get a multi-entry USA visa. With this visa, you can come and go from the United States for countless times without need to reapply every time you visit the U.S. The validity of the multiple-entry USA visa may last up to 10 years, which means you only have to apply for another US visa once in a decade.

  • 5) my passport containing a valid us visa has expired and i've obtained a new passport. do i need a new us visa now?

    If the passport in which your US visa is endorsed has expired, the visa in the old passport can still be used, provided you carry a valid passport of the same nationality along with the expired passport.

  • 6) my us visa (b-1/b-2) expires after my intended date of arrival in the united states. do i need to get a new us visa before departure?

    You can arrive in the United States right up to the last date of validity indicated on the visa. The Customs and Border Protection officer on arrival determines the duration of your stay in the United States. Your US visa can expire while you are still in the United States – just be sure that you do not overstay the period of time the officer grants.

  • 7) what should i do to renew my us visa?

    There is no provision in the US law under which a US Visa can be renewed. You will need to apply for a fresh US visa.

  • 8) if i get a 10 years us visa can i stay in usa for 10 years?

    No! The 10 years means the visa is valid for 10 years, but each visit stay will be determined and governed by the I-94, at the Port of Entry in USA and generally cannot be more than six months.

  • 9) do i need to take a health/travel insurance?

    You are strongly advised to purchase a health / travel insurance to cover yourself in the US as medical treatment can be very expensive in the US. Golden Gate Bridge

Arching across San Francisco Bay, joining San Francisco and Marin County, the Golden Gate Bridge has been a California icon since it was built in the 1930s. Contrasting with the blue water, the bridge's orangish-red color is an aesthetic accent that brings a unique quality to the city. It also has a unique presence when it is shrouded in fog with just the peaks of the main towers projecting through the low lying cloud. The bridge is approximately 2 miles long and part of Hwy 101 or SR 1.


Grand Canyon

This incredible natural attractions is one of the most visited places in the United States. Carved out by the Colorado River, the Grand Canyon cuts deep into the landscape, creating dramatic cliff walls and ledges. Visitors standing on the rim of the canyon can see down to the canyon floor a mile below, and look out over the ridges and cliffs that run as far as the eye can see. The South Rim is the most visited section of Grand Canyon National Park, with a large visitors center, regular bus service along the Rim in the high season, and a walkway that runs along the canyon with numerous viewing points and platforms. The North Rim, which also has lookout areas, provides a different perspective. This section of the park has limited access from November to May due to snow and winter conditions.


Las Vegas Strip

Walking along the Las Vegas Strip, the main street leading through the city past the mega resorts, is like strolling through an amusement park for adults. Recreations of the New York skyline, the Eiffel Tower, the canals of Venice and many more foreign sites line this famous street. Niagara Falls

Situated along the Canada-US border, Niagara Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in the world. The water from Lake Erie flows into Lake Ontario over these massive waterfalls, known for the great quantity of water that is constantly tumbling over the vertical drop. The amount of water going over the falls is actually reduced in winter, when more water is used to produce hydroelectric power. Most visitors will not notice a difference.


Statue of Liberty

A universal symbol of freedom, the Statue of Liberty is America's most familiar icon and the largest statue in the world. Standing 152 ft in New York Harbor, visitors can admire the statue from various points around the city, particularly Battery Park, or take a ferry right to the statue. For people who plan to go out to the statue, options include grounds tickets, pedestal tickets, or crown tickets, which allow different levels of access to the site. Anyone who plans on going inside the Statue of Liberty is encouraged to make advanced ticket reservations.


White House

The White House is the official residence of the President of the United States, and on almost all tourists' list of things to see in Washington. This historic structure has been the home of every president except George Washington. It was originally built by James Hoban in 1792 and, after being burned down by British forces in 1814, was rebuilt in 1818. Tours of the White House are free, but reservations must be made a minimum of three weeks in advance. Strict security rules are always in effect.


Yellowstone National Park

The park, the oldest national park in the USA, is also home to all kinds of wildlife, with free roaming bison, bighorn sheep, antelope, black bears, and grizzly bears.
